At Southside Kidney Specialists, our first priority is to provide you with a comfortable and stress-free experience. Our physicians and staff members are well trained and friendly, and we take your comfort very seriously.

Here’s a look at how to schedule your first appointment and what to expect for your first meeting with Southside Kidney Specialists.

To schedule a new patient appointment…

To schedule a new patient appointment, please call the office at 804-733-6960. Our friendly administrative team will answer any questions you have and help you set up an appointment.

Once your appointment is scheduled, please expect a reminder phone call the day before your appointment.

For your first appointment, please…

• Arrive 15 minutes early.
• Bring your completed paperwork.
• Bring all medications.
• Bring a copy of your insurance card and a photo ID.
• Bring a copy of your referral (if required by your insurance carrier).

Your first visit will be scheduled for one hour (two hours at most). If your doctor asks for any lab or blood work, it can be taken care of on-site after your appointment.

Please also plan to relax! You will not go on dialysis or have any other procedures done on your first visit; this is a great opportunity to talk with your doctor about any questions or concerns you might have about your condition and your treatment options.

 Follow up visits…

After your first visit, we will schedule your follow-up visit. We will also coordinate any necessary tests outside of our practice during this time.
