Dr. Amar Damodar

Dr. Amar Damodar is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist at Southside Kidney Specialists with a special interest in Hypertension, Glomerulonephritis, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis, Renal Transplant, and Fluid Electrolyte Imbalances. He is member of the Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Hypertension, the National Kidney Foundation, and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Damodar completed his residency at State University of New York College of Medicine, Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY, and his fellowship in Nephrology at University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY, as well. He was also the chief medical resident and was awarded Program Director’s award during his residency training. He earned his graduate degree from K.J. Somaiya Medical College in Sion, India, after graduating from K.J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce in Mumbai, India.

While at work, Dr. Damodar focuses on delivering exceptional patient care and staying up to date with the practical applications of medical research.

In his time outside of the practice, Dr. Damodar enjoys reading nonfiction and fiction and traveling with his family. In particular, he loves hiking nature trails and playing volleyball and tennis. Unfortunately, his height does not make him a natural basketball player!
